Had t usual tapping from HLA and so I changed the oil and ran the car. Stopped all the tapping but for (I am assuming one) that is even noisier now. Sounds awful with just a few revs and it is the right time to stop using it until I have further opinion. Took it to a local garage and had the usual doomsday scenario and talk of possibly a new engine. ‘It’s a ford engine and this is a common problem with the MX-5’ Can anyone point me in the right direction bearing in mind you have not heard the noise.
What’s the car? It’s only the mk1 that suffers this and that ain’t a ford engine.
