Hi Chaps

Just thought I’d say ‘Hi’ as I’m new on here!

Should have been on here before now but better late than never! Bought myself a Mk 1 Classic (my 1st MX-5) towards the end of last year as a good usable daily driver - most of the special edition bits had already been removed for whatever reason! Treated it to a cam belt change & service, fitted central locking, adjusted the rear brakes, new rear tyres & tracking (should have done the full alignment I realise now!).

So why does it now appear to be a magnet for bad luck - First of all a tile falls off and hits the bonnet & light cover, next a chip in the windscreen, last week the winder cable snapped and the exhaust started knocking. Saturday a couple of dents appeared in the door after a visit to Tesco’s and to top it all off I’ve just been tapped in another car park by an Audi which has now knocked the wheel alignment out and scraped the wheelarch. And I haven’t even had the hardtop off yet!

All I can say is, it’s a good job I enjoy the drive! Can anyone recommend a good specialist in the Derby/Burton area which is also good with bodywork & accident damage?!

Cheers,

Greg

don’t forget the girls, as well.

Don’t know about Derby/Burton but if you are ever over Nottingham way - there is an excellent MX 5 specialist in Hucknall, called 5speed.  Steve Moorcroft.  He owns an MX himself and has worked a couple of times on Puff for me and done a good job and isn’t a rip off merchant.

Hi Greg

I’m just over the A50 from you, near to Stenson.

Got a black Mk1 and Mk2 RS

I had some bodywork done on my Mk1 just a rear bumper resprayed. But whilst I was there he was respraying a red Mk1. Bodywork solutions close to me, near Asda, Sinfin. Worth popping over for a quote, drop in and see me at the same time if you want.

I’m also going to try the recommendation for 5 speed as above for alignment for the Mk2, been meaning to since I got it about 6 weeks ago.

Cheers

Mick
