I am a long time MX5 owner and local club Motorsport committee/motorsport member. I also sponsor the Australian mx5cartalk.com forum.
I’ve been around MX5 for over 10yrs and have had 3 different models throughout that time.
My first NA was one of the original Australian-delivered 1989 first release models in white with a hardtop. In 2001, I bought a personally imported 1990 Eunos Roadster NA6CE (red w/hardtop). In 2004, I bought a SP which was an special Australian only factory turbo NB8C with approx 180 rwhp @ 6 psi stock (black in colour this time). I have since sold the Eunos Roadster and SP.
However, I still kept my first 1989 model (registration MX52NV) and from 1999 to 2001, I rebuilt the car ground up for both show and as a result of a dream build that I had. I sold the her in 2003 and regretted it so much that I bought the old girl back in the end :oops:
