Hi from Southampton . BBR super 225

Hi all,
I have been a member of this forum for a little while now but this is my first post.
I am on my 3rd mx5 now. 1x NA and 2x NC 3.75.
I love the mx5 because of its simplicity and driver appeal they are fantastic standard but i like a bit more character. Here is my current mx5 it’s a BBR super 225.

Very nice, i do love the 25th Anniversary Edition. Same colour as the ND1 red.

The front splitter isn’t standard but looks nice, where did you get that?:+1:

Very Nice example indeed, it does look like the Mazda Optional front lower lip

i love it been considering for my track car.

Hope to see you (and the car!) at a Solent region event some time.

(Also a BBR’d 25AE owner, but with the 250bhp supercharger).

I’m slightly distracted by what looks like a giant squash in your garage

Possibly, when you reverse back too far…

This is lovely, nice work.

Can you post a pic of the engine bay…

Hi Mark,

I’m running an NC2 with the super 200 kit but considering the addition of the ITBs. Did you go straight to 225 from stock?

I’m interested to know how much louder the induction is at partial throttle.

Cheers

Tom

The ITBs are only really loud at Wide open throttle. I have no experience of the s200 setup as i bought this one as it is. I have done a long distance run to Cornwall and it wasnt too loud and can be driven around town incognito , but WOT is very noisy.

Cheers for the info Mark, to be honest the super 200 isn’t really that loud unless you do as I did and put an IL motorsport back box on as well. Now mine is a little on the boomy side around 2800-3000 rpm.

Guess I’d best start saving the pennies for the 225 upgrade!

I’d love to have my NC 3.75 modified to the BBR 225, as I would love that magic induction rumble!
I’m torn between keeping my Kuro edition bog standard and having some modifications.
What a dilemma!!!

Is this the exact car that BBR used to demo the Super 225? Looks same spec being the AE25 with the gold sparco wheels and front splitter if it’s not. Looks great anyway. I have an NC3.75 and had the Super 200 installed with the mid pipe and GT back box. Was booked up for the ITB install last summer but they cancelled due to supplier issues for the kit and not been back in touch with me. I’m back considering it again lately.
