Hi guys, MK1 Eunos wanted...

Hi folks, I thought i registered on here a long time ago, turns out i didnt lol

Unsure if im allowed to post a wanted ad here either so sorry if i break any rules.

Ive previously owned 1 MX5, turned out it needed a lot of work which i found out when my jack went through the sill…

Anyway i still had a lot of fun in it and id like to get another… problem is im fussy and i want one as clean as i can get for my budget. (as does everyone lol)

Im looking for a MK1 preferably an import, ive seen a couple but there arent many for sale at the moment and travelling across the water is a lot of effort and to be honest scares me a little…

Would anyone know of any for sale that maybe arent advertised? My budget is up to around £2000

Heres a picture of my old one just for somthing to look at… it wasnt much…

CBS Autos in Nelson have 2 rust free ones in at Present, but he is looking for £2500ea.

He has a good reputation, and is known in the club. I know travelling is not easy, but sometimes you need to go the distance to get a good one.

click on album to see the silver one

Thanks, love the black one! It’s just to much out of my budget to be honest… then flights fuel and a ferry home. I wouldn’t mind travelling but car would need to be at the right price and in great condition.

Sometimes I wish there was a big bridge or a tunnel…

Anyone know the deal with this one? It’s been for sale for at least a year I’d say maybe 2…

That one was for sale a good 18 months ago when I bought my Mk2.5! He’ll have spent alot on advertising on that one over that amount of time.

I didnt view it, but can only assume that clean cars dont sit for years.

Have you seen this one? http://www.gumtree.com/p/mazda/1989-mazda-mx5-1.6-import/1098048095

Yeah i thought the same… surely someone would have snapped it up if it was good…

went to see that silver one, ran well with low milage but just a bit rough for me… not a big fan of disguiseapon lol that’s what happened with the last one.

there’s one in Cork that I’d love but it’s already just slightly out of my budget with no nct or tax, so to get it trailered up here and then register it would definitely put me way over…

so annoying!

This ad just appeared on 1 March (car is in Newry): http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C589355

Looks like a nice one on the face of it.

Thanks Johnny, nice car its just too young for me… need a 95 for classic insurance. Ive been to see about 10 in the last 2 months or so… maybe im being to fussy but theres been nothing ive wanted to part with the cash for… or else ive been unable to afford it.

Still DESPERATELY looking unfortunately…

Hi,

If you need any help with classic car insurance then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.

Are you sure about that Conor? Mine’s a 2003 SVT Sport and I have it on a normal Admiral Multicar policy with the other 2 cars in our household. I think its about £179 fully comp protected with no limits on mileage. Last proper “classic” policy I had wasnt much less than that.

Found out I can get classic up to 2000 I think… got a quote on a 96 for 205 from adrian flux which was the cheapest I could get… can get a quote for 143 from them but I’ve to transfer my no claims on to it instead of my daily…

Admiral honored my main no claims on the MX5 policy when I joined them - so I was cheap from day 1 with them. A Peugeot 407, Merc B Class and MX5 for under £600 fully comp protected. My wife any myself named on all 3 cars. Worth a call…

hmm sounds interesting. they did knock over 400 off the quote for me though… although my insurance for my daily is up on the 29th so I could mention that…

multi car with admiral was over a grand… :frowning:

 Good grief! Thats not good.

Keep a note of this number… http://www.autoline.co.uk/Motor-Insurance/Classic-Car-Insurance

They gave me classic cover on my '95 Audi Coupe a few years ago and I had 2 x triumphs with them before that. Oh to be rich… I shouldnt have let any of them go!! Still… the MX5 compensates!

Yeah dunno why it’s so expensive… managed to get my daily and an mx5 insured for 500 on the button… happy enough with that tbh…

Found one! 1996 with 45k miles on it! done less than 1000 miles in the last 5 years and 100 from the last mot in sept! well happy!

Conor62's Eunos

looks lovely… and as for insurance try Autoline as mine is less than 200 for 5000 miles a year.
