Hi, Just re-introducing myself

 Hi,

I have had several months off the forum and have re-joined finding a new look club forum/webpage/site.  Many of you will remember me, some have been in touch answering queries or problems, some general chit chat and also selling and buying.

It’s great to be back and quite a few of you will remember I have returned to a manual (last car was an automatic MK2) and also another MK2.  This car, (called Faith…yes…I still give my car(s) names[;)]) I have owned nearly seven months.  Before that, Eve was my automatic and before that Cherish - my MK1.

So why the long return?..work committments, college, house renovation, and last but not least computer problems.  Not great excuses but…true.

Geoff (Walton) has been, like the rest of you that have replied to a recent query/problem with Faith, a great support and help - Thank You Geoff and the rest of you for all your support and help so far!

I look forward to looking into the club and being part of it once again…[:)]

Hello and welcome Ladyuk[:)]

Ben

And a very warm welcome to you too…Ben!..See that you are a newbie - joined December 2008 or were you an existing member that re joined like I have?

Good to be back as I said, the car picture of your MK1 reminds me of my black eunos roadster that I sold on last year (a year ago to the month!)…I only ever owned 1 MK1, the rest mostly MK2 except for the Nevada in stratos blue, grey interior and grey matching soft top which was a MK2.5

I have got to see and even sit in a MK3…lovely…but I will say out of all the models, to me the MK1 has the edge!..I never thought I would get use to the pop up lights again (had a MK1 (AW11) toyota MR2 (pop up light version) and now that my MK1 has gone, funnily enough even a  year on…when I turn on the engine on my MK2…my MK1…Cherish…springs to mind…I am really tempted to go back to a MK1…it would have to be black, blue or white, a 1.6 manual.

If it also came with a MK2 soft top and a matching hard top, leather interior, low mileage, fabulous condition and had air con and was unique (own individual style) …boy!..would I be tempted…you never know someone reading this may have such.  Of course I would have to sell on Faith…everything I would want in a MK2, very low (and genuine mileage that has been warranted by the company who sold her to me, electric power all round, even the wing mirrors, double air bags, suspension is Mazda speed, alloys, top tyres, no rust, wax oiled, I’ve put in a latest bluetooth radio/cd player, clear side repeaters, bosch wipers, co-ordinated logo’d mats in black and bronze.  Low and sleek, driven sensibly (but that could be down to my age or the fact I treasure a clean licence and respect the road speeds and like to keep my hard earned money in my pocket not paid out to unecessary fines !..Tip top maintained and a colour that not only stands out but to me, is tops!..My only wants for her are leather interior (which I hope to get done this year sometime), a stainless steel exhaust system…Got all the usual other stuff, rear heated soft top, boot mat, high wind deflector and standard factory one as well…so not much more to get apart from a burr wood fascia and accessories (hand brake lever, gear knob etc)…

Anyway…once again a big welcome and will get to have a look in at your topics and hopefully get to see more pics of your car

Best wishes

He he,

I’m definitely a noob! got my 1.8 Mark 1 last September and absolutely love it! the pop up’s, the low slung seating position, the pace of the thing, the convertible roof, the short shift gearbox, the steering, the sheer fun of driving it on a nice empty B road, you get the idea!

Have fun and enjoy the car!(and don’t forget the chrome vent rings!)

Ben
