I think those may be the soft top instructions. On the PRHT there is a fabric type cover glued on the underside of the deck lid under the brake light. Part open the roof until you can access it from below. You need to carefully remove the fabric cover and then remove the clips by collapsing the sides with an appropriate piece of tubing. Bit like wallplugs .
