Highlands and Back

I’m taking my MX5 up the west coast of Scotland to the Isle of Skye (from the midlands) in June but don’t want a 450 mile hike on the way back. Any recommendations for stopping for 2 nights on the way back (and recommended accommodation). Maybe Northumerland/Dales area…?

We stayed at loch lomond at a decent hotel, it even had swimming pool.
We also did a seaplane flight the next day that flew us over Bute.
I know its not yorkshire ,but its there.
The drive to Skye was fab and our b&b there was great

”The Limes guest house", just off jct 40, Penrith, great stop and the owners are very helpful and friendly.

Brother and I did just over 2000 mile holiday trip up in the Highlands two weeks ago, it was superb. Don’t restrict yourself to just Skye (which is great), try and get up over to Applecross, great pub food there, then drive up the coast to Ullapool, the “Whistle stop” tea room at Kinlochewe is a great stop. Your going to love it, even if the weather isn’t so good, it just adds to the atmosphere of The Highlands. Enjoy.
