HKS Super Drager Backbox Problem

Hi,

I’m a new member to the forum after getting a '92 1.6 as a project car a few months ago. Anyway I’ve bought an HKS Super Drager backbox without checking my current midpipe . I went to fit it the other day and my current midpipe had a slip joint rather than a flange so I can’t fit the back box. does anyone know of a midpipe that will fit the back box or have one I could buy? Planning on going down to power flow soon to see how much it’ll cost to have one custom made.

Thanks in advance

Torque Developments are a HKS agent, so may be able to order a replacement mid pipe.

As you were planning on fitting the back box to your mid-pipe, the obvious solution is to modify the HKS part to fit your existing exhaust.

Bit strange this, all these HKS exhausts being sold without a mid-section.

Hopefully, it is actually the NA6CE version you have, not the NB version.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll contact them now and find out thanks for the contact. I’m planning on getting a new mid pipe ideally and the back box was old without the mid pipe as it was apparently cracked and had shoddy welding done. I do know it is an na6 one though for sure. Thanks again

Hmm, I wouldn’t spend too much time with this exhaust. HKS is basically a budget brand in Japan, despite how it is portrayed here. What you have is probably more than 20 years old, and the baffles are known to loosen up. You might be better off getting an exhaust builder to replicate it. This is what one owner did

These systems are also not stainless steel.

Even a Fujitsubo exhaust I had fell apart due to rusting.
