Homura worth the price?

This car could be worth a fortune in the future. Look at the price of stamps and coins that have a ‘manufacturing’ flaw!!!

I somehow doubt it! I will check out another 2024 as soon as I come across one.

I emailed Mazda UK back on the 17th after they said there was no 12v charging socket in the new 24. I asked that, if there wasn’t a socket then how do we use the emergency tyre inflator? The SAME person emailed me back yesterday and said -

In order to use the tyre inflator, you will need to plug it into the interior accessory socket, ensuring to switch the vehicle’s power to ACC. Further information can be found in the online owner’s manual on the Mazda UK website.

It’ll just be a product to them. The average enthusiastic owner probably knows more about these cars than the people that sell them.

Latest reply, probably what we all knew -

My apologies for the confusion. As stated in the owner’s manual and confirmed by our Brand Team, the 2024 MX-5 is equipped with the 12v accessory socket.

I am sorry for the contradicting information.

A bit disappointed that the stone leather interior option has been dropped.
It’s the main reason I ordered a GT Sport Tech in '22 (now called Homura).

I really like the light coloured cabin but I have seen many posts praising the Recaro seats - do the seats make up for an all black cabin?

I’m 2 years into my PCP and trying to weigh up my options as to what to do when it comes to an end. Currently don’t know whether to pay the balloon payment and keep it or go for new, which would usually be the logical thing to do on PCP.

This isn’t only my first MX-5 but my first ever new car and first PCP so this is new territory for me.

The price rises and interior changes are putting me off getting new, but the amount of miles I do commuting in it as a daily driver (200 per week) are telling me I should.

I’ve already been contacted by the dealer for an ‘account review’, which I haven’t responded to yet.

Personally if you like the car, prefer the interior you have, and there’s nothing wrong mechanically (or anything like hood-roll hoop rubbing etc), maybe keeping it isn’t a bad route. You might get anther and it’s turns out to be a nightmare.
So long as you haven’t ended up paying stack loads of interest on PCP, as in a monthlies + balloon = much more than the original RRP, paying it outright might not be a bad option.

My car is in been for its second service this week, and I had another phone call from the dealer inviting me in for an ‘account review’, so I arranged an appointment when I dropped my car in.

So it turns out there isn’t enough equity in my car to swap to a new one now without doubling my payments or putting in a big lump of cash, not that I had any plans to change at this point anyway.

But I did ask to sit in a 2024 car just to try out the Recaro seats and to go completely against the general consensus I didn’t find them comfortable at all. They feel much narrower around the legs - far too narrow, personally I find the leather seats in my car much more comfortable - admittingly I didn’t drive it so I don’t know if they feel better over time.

So I’m still as unsure as I was as what to do when my PCP runs out.

Buy the one you got, and I presume like?

Note also, that a dealer ‘invite’ means round 1 to the dealer: They’ve got you through the door and talking about given them more money.

Interesting point about the Recaros. I sat in the previous top spec Nappa ones and found them nice.
