Hoodedreeper's Eunos Roadster

Abit of back history since owning it (may be abit boring)

The day i got her (parked next to my Micra)

Mazda Eunos (import)
1.6
Manufactured 1991
Imported and Registered in UK 1998

 The bad bits…

Upon looking at the car after a look around,I checked the underneath and the arches and they’re solid, not a single bit of rust. Underneath the bonnet its very clean,no knocks/rattles and no leaks. The interior is in mint condition aswell.

The roof has some small tears along the edge where the rubber seal is,but it doesnt leak. Apart from the body work and the roof, its solid as a rock!

First thing i done when i got her home was to wash her (after she had been parked under a telegraph pole…home of lots of birds)

Next job was to clean and paint the calipers,so gave them a lick of Smooth Black Hammerite:

Heres the door after i quickly (and i mean QUICKLY) blew in some white primer, which resulted in the primer running and generally going every where. (had to bring the brightness down to try and show it)

And heres it after with some white paint. The photo is VERY mis-leading as the actual paint is Audi Casablanca White…which is more like a cream colour, and stands out like a sore thumb. But with the poor lighting/weather,it doesnt show in the photo

And heres above the windscreen, again same thing with the paint, but the photo doesnt show it. And yes i know theres over spray on the roof, getting a new one anyway

Thought i’d change the speakers as the ones in there are shockingly poor

New ones:

Last job of the day was to fit my Speedo converter:

Before (showing KMH)

After (now showing MPH)

Picked up some new shoes for the 'ol gal

Thought it was time to change the air filter:

Out with the old:

In with the new:

Trial fitted my Superlites (YES I KNOW IT NEEDS LOWERING :P)

The car is in a need of a spray job. I was originally gonna spray it,then i thought i’d get it vinyl wrapped…then i was gonna spray it…but then changed my mind again.

Taken inspiration from my Old VW Polo Mk2 Breadvan

Its now looking like this…

Got my new Import size number plate on the front but havent got any photos

i havent forgotten to do certain areas as its meant to be ‘patchy’. I did like the way it was on the Polo, but i like it more patchy this time

Little road trip today to Ipswich to pick up some goodies…

K&N Panel Filter (needs cleaning)

Hard Top Clips

But theres no cover…hmm…gonna have to look into this better…

OEM Front Upper Strut Brace

And fitted:

Also changed the Spark Plugs,Oil and Oil Filter.

And thats how she stands at the moment! Picked up a 2nd hand front bumper for £20.00 and got my O/S Wing Mirror being repaired as the bolt had rusted through and snapped.

Your one busey boy Thumbs up looking forward to the next episode

 Nice work Thumbs up

If you remove the trim panels near the seat belts  the area you need to cut out to fit those hardtop brackets is marked out on the back!

There`s a guide in the FAQ somewhere.

great progress

 Everybody loves photos!

 Photos taken from yesterday’s meet:

Went over to Norfolk Areana today for their monthly Drift Practice. Weather was perfect and the track was extremely smooth! Will wait for my mate to upload his photos of me going round the track, and i’ll post them up.

Heres my mate’s Seirra that joined me on the track day:

I’ll fast forward to 3pm,i was out on track coming round the back corner and i suddenly lost all power. So i pulled over out of the way and turned the ignition and there was nothing. Looked in my wing mirror and i saw the rear 1/4 bubbling! So i jumped outta the car and ran to the back, opened the boot and a huge cloud of smoke poured out. The battery was on fire! Once a marshal had extinguished the fire,we pushed it back to the pits to have a better look. It looks like the battery clamp (thats hooked onto the chassis) had touched the Positive terminal and that ended up in detinating the battery, setting the surround carpet alight in the mean time! So we took the battery out for a better look:

Ooops! At least i can say i done it proply! Most people blow tyres at a drift day,i happen to blow up batteries!

A pair of new terminals and a new battery and jobs a good 'un!
