Hope Motor show 22nd June 2009

Are you attending again because it was very good last year ?

And if Not I might apply for myself

Alan

Hi Alan, can you give a bit more information about the Hope Motor Show? I don’t understand your post at all. Whom was it aimed at?

This post was aimed at the peaks and pennines area who attended this show last as the Owners club

I posted on thier sub forum to see if they were going to be there in an Oficial capacity again…

I have posted further details for anyone who wants to attend in the “other events” section of this forum.

I hope this answers your question

Alan

 Hi Alan,

unfortunately we, Peaks and Pennines that is, will be on our summer holidays to France that week, well most of the club will be, but as we have quite a few new members they may well attend with anyone left behind. in fact you could be the old hand to show them around, was a great event last year.

does seem to be confusion as to why people from the main forum are replying to posts in our local forum, not first time it has happened.

Pete

Hi Alan

Am sure Burton is going, he has said the same area as last year has been made available for us,  we will make sure all P P banners etc are available for the event.

Mummy [:)]

Ok I will get over and have a chat about doing this event then…Might see if anyone from C+NW wants to come if theres space?

Cheers

Alan

The Sheffield and Hallamshire Motor Club Hope Car Show is at the Traveller's Rest at Brough Lane Head, Hope Valley  S33 9HG on Monday 22nd June, during the early evening.

We would like to invite all members and friends join us for an evening in the beautiful setting of the Travellers Rest, where you are assured of a very warm and traditional welcome.

The Sheffield and Hallamshire Motor Show at Hope is the one time when motor sport enthusiasts meet car and bike lovers, to enjoy each other's company surrounded by a unique exhibition of Competition, Vintage and Classic vehicles.

Last year's show was amazing it attracted over 150 vintage and classic cars and bikes, this year will be even better.

An area close to the main arena, will be reserved for the MX5 Owners Club to show their cars, other visitors will be able to use the large car park (£2.50) in the next field.

An outside BBQ will serve food at reasonable prices, several hand pulled ales are usually available.

Either join the P & P convoy leaving the car park by The Fox House Pub, Longshaw,  Sheffield, S11 7TY at 6:30 pm or just turn up at the event, and, if you are in an MX5, ask to be parked in the MX5 club area,

For further details and directions see http://www.sheffieldandhallamshiremc.co.uk/ and http://www.sallydog.co.uk/travellersrest/

I have jjust received the following from Tina of S & H the organising club -

Hi Burton,

I’ve allocated Peak & Pennines MX5 Owners a group number of 189. As last year You will be together, except for the Harlequin which is no.43 & positioned with the other competition cars. Hope this is ok.

Cheers

Tina

If its as last year the parking fee will be waved to all members, and visiters turning up in their MX5’s and parking with the club.

Money rased from the parking fees goes to a good cause, so I normally pay  the £2.50 or what ever, and I am as tight as they come!

Paul Roddison will be bringing one of the cars he is racing in the Max5 Racing Series, at 280 bhp it goes like s**t of a shovel !

See you there

Burton

 Cheers Burton

I will also be attending as it was very good last year.

Alan

 Hi there.

I haven’t been to the Hope Motor show since I lived in Sheffield sone 17 years ago now. I do now have a Mk 1 Roadster ‘Eunice’ and will be driving up from Nottingham tonight to have a look round. I am a MX-5 OC member will mention this at the gate and endeavour to park with the club.

I just hope the weather holds out !

Chris

 Hi Alan,

Just to let you know that the MX5 Owners Club will have a area allocated to it, as in previous years.

The show falls on the longest day, June 21st this year.

Several of the MaX5 track cars will be on display

Keep an eye on P & P’s forum for further details.

 Hi Chris,

I hope (no pun intended) you can get to the show this year.

Last year heavy rain drenched the surrounding area, but the show escaped with a few drops, the sun shines on the righteous (and MX5 owners).

B

 Hi there.

Yep - My other half and I will be there  and Eunice of course! It was a great do last year and you’re right, the weather in the Hope valley was unbelievable, unlike the surrounding areas.

What time does it all kick-off ? I’ll be driving up from North West Nottingham so might make a full day of it in Derbyshire finishing off at the event.

Chris Belton - NEM.

 Hi Chris,

The show is on Monday 21st of June, this year, (always the Monday nearest the longest day)

Its an open event, come and go as you please, the club is aiming for 6:30, but if you can get there earlier the queues will be shorter

The Owners club will have an area allocated to them, ask (then insist if the student marshalls try to park you elsewhere) to be parked in the MX5 Owners Club area.

We will have a rare MX5 Mk3 that Cosworth have breathed on, along with some of the Max5 Series racing cars on display

Hope to see you there.

B

 Hi Burton,

If all is well I will be there.

Been very good the last 2 years

Might be able to get both cars their if the wife wants to come

Alan

Hi Alan,

I talked to Bob and Tina, the organisers, on Friday, its got the making of one of the best and busiest shows yet.

Roddie is hoping to get his MX5 Mk3 with the Cosworth Supercharger back for the show, failing that he will bring his Mk3 race car across.

Hope you both can make it, ask the marshals to park you (F.O.C) in the MX5 owners area.

B

Got your message this morning Burton.

Sadly I am starting work at 18.30 (shift work can work both ways but tonight it stuffed me!)

so I wont be able to attend.

Hope you all have a good evening and get some promotion done for September

See you all soon

Alan
