 Brilliant!

Could spend hours playing with this looking at all the old cars i’ve owned!

1998 RS import in white with new wheels and stereo

Focus St in reserved orange

cant find my perticular model. comes up we SE models but cant find mineSad

Looking at a certain model I’m familiar with I think their figures are rather suspect. maybe a good guide but I wouldn’t take them too seriously myself.

It could be that some cars are mis-registered of course - in fact I’m sure some are when you see Mk1’s running around with Y2k-onward reg. plates on!

There are also Roadsters registered as Fives so DVLA aren’t infallible.

That site is really interesting. If I had known that my old Porsche 924 Auto was down to the last 100, I wouldn’t have let it go…and to think that I could have picked up a low mileage 924 S Auto - only 18 of those around …

But getting back to MX5s - only 352 of the S-VT Autos are around and few of those have A/C (as mine has) so it’s relatively rare.

I like this site. There appear to be 333 of my particular car left, over 40 of them appear SORN at any one time. After 13 years, over 80% survival is pretty good in my opinion. Great looking at my first cars, my first car is now down to 8! lol

Being rather sad, I approximately added up all the years from 90 to 97, then added half the 98 year as I do not know the proportion of mk1 to mk2 sold in that year. This website indicates we have about 13500 mk 1 MX 5’s regularly used on UK roads. There is also a number which appear SORN. Makes for interesting thought, I wonder how soon we will be down to 10000 Mk 1’s , it appears they are dropping off quite quickly by some of the stats on here.
