How to remove the windscreen washer jet nozzles from the bonnet?

Hello[:)]

One of the two channels in the offside washer jet nozzle on my 5’s bonnet appears to be blocked and so i need to remove the nozzle from the bonnet to give it a clean, but how do i remove it from the bonnet?

Thanks,

Ben.

Disconnect the water tubing and remove the plastic nut that is holding the jet in place. It is below the stiffening skin of the bonnet so it is not straight away obvious where it is.

Hi Pollyana[:)]

I have unplugged the water tubing but i cannot see the nut? is it located under the stiffening skin out of view? and how do i remove the nut?

I had a go at tugging on the washer nozzle with no luck, it’s stuck to the bonnet like a pig in a cat flap!

And also what would be the best way to clear the channels in the washer jet nozzle?

Ben.

There isn’t a nut on standard jets, they are held in by 2 plastic tabs which need to be squeezed from underneath (use long nose pliers or a tube that passes over the base of the jet).  They should then pop out.

OE nozzles are held on with tags that you squeeze together from underneath the bonnet, they are a bit awkward. You can poke a paper clip down the nozzle with it in situ to clear it.
