My sport was first registered in June 2003 and I’m curious as to what diff it has.
Is there a document anywhere that can tell me whether I have a Fuji or a Torsen diff?
Thanks guys.

My 2.5 Sport was 1st reg end May 2003 and I am also curious.
As I understand it with a 6 speed box I am likely to have the Fuji diff, but I am by no means certain without dismantling, but I’m not that curious.

If the 6th from last digit of your VIN is a 3 or above you have the “Fuji” diff.
It’s a 3.
Cheers
From what I have seen in the past, which I cannot find now that digit is not the diff type, it is the first digit of the serial number of the car, to explain I have found this on this forum;
NA1, NB1 or NC1 - These denote the “car line”
8 - Body type - 8 = 2 Door convertible
B, P, C, 6, 8 or F - Engine type: B, C, or 6 = 1600cc: P or 8 = 1800cc: F = 2000cc
2, 5,or 6 - Transmission type: 2 = 5 speed maual: 5 = 4 speed auto: 6 = 6 speed manual
00 - Production plant - 00 = Hiroshima
The last 6 digits is the serial number.
My VIN denotes the following: UK car, NB, 2 door convertible, 1800, 6speed, Hiroshima, then 6 digits of serial number. From the above! However I previously found something that said it is an NB-FL model too which is the breakdown I can no longer find.
Yes, it’s not the diff type, it’s the serial number. It was at that serial number (300001 onwards) that Mazda started fitting the “Fuji” type LSD.
A 200001 onwards serial number denotes a facelift model.
