Thanks for highlighting this. Unfortunately I can’t get the day off work or I’d have gone. I haven’t done a track day before and have been looking for airfields around Bristol which I thought might be a good start for a novice. Looking at that site I can’t believe there are so many airfield track-days around here! Have you been to many of them ( Colerne? Keevi? )
Also, don’t suppose you know if they hire helmets and what theycharge for tuition?
Yeah I think they charge £10 for Helmet hire and £20 for 20 mins tuition.
I have only been to Hullavington so can’t comment on the others but I hope to try some of their other venues this year.
Fabulous place to start track days as there is no grass and nothing to hit.

I’ve done Hullavington a couple of times with those guys. It is a big, wide airfield with nothing to hit so its a great first track day for any novices. If I can get my car ready in time I might go to that as a shakedown before the 'Ring trip in May

Excellent. What sort of other cars were there? Was there much of a speed difference and if so did it matter?

Lots of different cars, r500 & 997TT to clios. My MX-5 held its own with every road car (I was never out with the 997!), but obviously the Caterhams were quicker. Very good marshalling as usual so no it didn’t matter.
I am always amazed at much you can get out of a '5 on track. It has quite alot of grip compared to some others.

Yes - stunning! I wouldn’t want to be hit by one though, it’s quite edgey. Would make a good 2nd car to my mx5
