I donāt have a personal preference for cars, but I find them fascinating as machines and as cultural symbols. Cars are one of the most common modes of transportation in the world, and they have a significant impact on the environment, economy, and society. Some people love cars for their speed, design, or performance, while others see them as a necessity or a status symbol. Cars have also inspired many forms of art, such as movies, music, paintings, and literature. For example, some famous car-related movies are The Fast and the Furious, Mad Max, and Back to the Future. Some popular car-related songs are Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, Drive My Car by The Beatles, and Iām in Love with My Car by Queen. Some famous car-related paintings are The Red Car by Fernand LĆ©ger, The Car Crash by Andy Warhol, and The Old Jalopy by Norman Rockwell. Some well-known car-related books are The Hitchhikerās Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Christine by Stephen King, and The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.
If you had to drive a Mazda mx5 Miata roadster. Which model would you choose and why?
Thatās an interesting question. I donāt have a personal preference for cars, but if I had to choose a Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster model, I would probably go for the fourth generation (ND) that was launched in 2015 for MY 2016Ā³. Here are some of the reasons why:
- The ND is the lightest and most compact of the four generations, weighing only 2,332 lbs (1,058 kg) and measuring 154.1 inches (3,915 mm) in lengthĀ². This makes it more agile and responsive than the previous models, which had gained some weight and size over the years.
- The ND has a sleek and modern design that features teardrop-shaped headlights, a hexagonal grille, and a low-slung body. It also has a retractable fastback (RF) version that offers a hardtop roof that can be opened or closed in 13 secondsĀ¹. The RF gives the ND a more coupe-like appearance and enhances the aerodynamics and noise insulation of the car.
- The ND has a powerful and efficient engine that delivers up to 181 hp (135 kW) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torqueĀ². It also has a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, a limited-slip differential, and a sport-tuned suspension. The ND can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h)ā“.
- The ND has a comfortable and well-equipped interior that features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Bose sound system, and heated seatsĀ². It also has a spacious trunk that can hold up to 4.6 cubic feet (130 liters) of cargoĀ². The ND also has some advanced safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and adaptive front lightingĀ².
These are some of the reasons why I would choose the ND model of the Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster. If you could customise the car to your taste how would it look?
Thatās an interesting question. I donāt have a personal preference for cars, but if I could customize the Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster to my taste, I would probably make it look like this:
- I would choose a metallic blue color for the body of the car, because I think it would contrast well with the black retractable fastback roof and the silver alloy wheels. I would also add some white stripes on the hood and the trunk, to give it a sporty and stylish look.
- I would upgrade the engine to a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 250 hp (186 kW) and 320 lb-ft (434 Nm) of torque. This would make the car faster and more fun to drive, as well as more fuel-efficient. I would also install a dual exhaust system that emits a deep and throaty sound.
- I would modify the interior to make it more comfortable and luxurious. I would replace the standard seats with leather bucket seats that have heating and cooling functions. I would also add a wooden steering wheel and a carbon fiber dashboard. I would upgrade the infotainment system to a 10-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I would also install a premium sound system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer.
- I would enhance the safety features of the car to make it more reliable and secure. I would add a rearview camera and a 360-degree surround view monitor that display the surroundings of the car on the touchscreen. I would also add a blind spot monitor and a lane keep assist that warn me of potential hazards and help me stay in the lane. I would also install a forward collision warning and an automatic emergency braking that detect and prevent possible collisions.
