i would love a pit crew front end

i no this is such a long shot but i would love to have the front end of the pitcrew on my 5, im almost drooling over some of them i have seen and i understand and can see why its marmite but i adore it so much ,

its getting increasingly rare and most ppl only want them becuase of this :frowning:

im a genuine person who has happened to be born in the wrong era and may be a tad too late to get one but its worth a shot, any one got any ideas ,ive looked on Rspeed and also general stuff like eeeeeeBayy

ive tried the pitcrew racing team website its obviolsy in japanese so i translated it using my browser it seems the shop is still open and they still have most of there items still on there but ive heard theve stopped making this have they just abandoned there website??

heres some pics for some of you to enjoy or hate

I turned down a Pitcrew front clip, that was £500 shipped to Heathrow from New Zealand. Pit Crews can look ok as long as you have a ton of cash for all the extra detailing, otherwise they look unbalanced and wierd.

I yearn for a replacement to my GHO nose.

Now its a regular schnook.

Hi thanks for the reply i understand how some times they just dont fit right they seem off and wonky the wrong angle ect but i think i can afford it, ive been working my ass of for a while now saving for the time one pops up, its a bit sad but i think ive found my reasonable dream car. Big Smile

can you still acquire this???

and oh myy how did that happen ouchh

There is a Pitcrew in France that may have to be sold back into the UK, you may find some info on the French MX5 OC. Otherwise, check out Nutz, and look for James MadaboutMX5 I think his forum name is, he may known where you can get hold of one.

“Brownie” refers to the same Pitcrew clip I passed on.

Sam Goodwin imported a new custom front nose from Japan (M2-1002 replica from S2 Racing); retail cost was £500, but landed cost was £1500.

The pit crew front end is definately a love it or hate it look. Its not one for me but I do appreciate the effort that the people who own them have put in.

If you really want one, then the best advice I’d give is “you only live once.” Hence why I own my Vette.

i wonder what parts were used for it to be moulded the 1st time round or was it all from scratch  Thinking

Probably made from a foam blank; the lamps are off the shelf standard items. You get some closed cell foam blocks, fit to a stripped front, and start shaping it with rasps etc. I “think” a spray putty is used then to seal it, and you make the mould. Construction of the mould will probably cost £4-500.

If you search Minkara, there is a white roadster with a Porsche 935 style front. The owner had put together a write up how he made it (took a cheap GV front nose, and heavily modified it).

wonder if any one would make me one, with pay

Have you got £20k burning a hole then??

A Vspec with a Pitcrew front for sale for 390,000 yen:

You will need a Japanese agent to purchase this on your behalf. I reckon it will be about £5500 landed, no MOT.

Or a rather more expensive 1990 one, 690000 yen, so the thick end of £10k:

Needs some bodywork.

wish i had that much but i dont, i only wanted a front end :frowning: to apply to mine but looks like it wont happen
