So every now and again - once a week ish. I will unlock my car, Turn key, the instrument panel goes black, Few seconds later open door and unlock etc. Get a needle sweep, ODO goes back to 0 and dsc light comes on and car starts normal. Any ideas??
You could have water ingress but I guess these happenings to your dash behaviour wouldn’t be intermittent as you explain.
Anyways check in the passenger footwell for water ingress and inside that A pillar fuse panel passenger side. Also pop the glove box out and check up under there for signs of water. Loose battery connections too can cause weird happenings.
Morning, Thanks for the reply. Was one of the first things i looked at when i brought it 01/03/23 was floor matts and smell of old water. Didn’t really consider the water on this as its 10-15 seconds and it starts every time after.
What MickAP says but when checking the battery connections, remove the cables from the battery and clean the battery lugs and inside the clamps on the cables.

I think i might have figured it out… Think! its only happened once since but i have my other car key on my key bunch. Which is keyless audi key. since ive removed it its been very different.
