Hi Guys,has  anyone fitted a IL Motorsport backbox to a 3.5,trying to find out if the noise is better than a cobra system before i buy

hiya,

I have the mx5parts backbox which i beleive to be the same as the IL motorsports one. I fitted mine to a 1.8 mk3 ( mk3.5 would be the same sounding really) 

its little fruiter and a tad louder than stock, cobra is about 15 % noiseier and more intrusive in the cabin than the il /’ mk5parts one. I did a lot of research on exhaust’s before i got mine. they all drone at 3-3500k rpm but thats the nature of the engine.

The cobra drones more and it’s louder and has more of a growl. I beleive it pops a little more too :) 

If your near me your welcome to hear mine once its warm, ( they sound like stock when cold  imo)

no problem, no they are noiser due to the smaller silencers and how the internals are designed

 Hi as Im working near cologne I popped into IL motorsport ,Very nice friendly and informative people work there.

I bought a cold air induction kit for my 1999 nb 1.8 while there :slight_smile:

 yes they do supply mx5 parts as I asked them.
