Nice. Which product was it, their Cleanser Polish?

I’ve found all of their products to be excellent, probably my favourite car cleaning/detailing brand :+1:t3:

Cheers,

Cleanser Polish probably, very similar product to Autoglym. Both very good still in this flooded market.

Which would you say requires the least elbow grease on black paint? I am literally just using Halfords wash n wax shampoo but realise I should be doing more.
Never had to hand wash my cars before this one so advice would be good please. Car is driven daily and not garaged so all the Scottish weather means it has to be easy and quick to do, but would like it to stay shiny and protected if possible.

I stay way from wash & wax i just use shampoo i tend to top up my polish/ wax every few weeks but I enjoy washing and polishing ny cars I always hand wash always use different sponges ie body / wheels etc , i tend to top up my waxing once i see water not beading off panels etc for me it was trail and error with products ooh and never hot water it takes iff polish / wax dulls paintwork imo :+1:

Thanks. I do use warm not hot water, bucket and mitt, and drying chenille cloths. Water is still beading but I don’t know what’s been put on prior to me buying him in the summer. Still has a decent shine for now but expect winter to end that. Not confident to start really detailing myself but equally can’t afford to pay someone else. I read some of the previous threads on detailing and it was all a bit over my head tbh. Thanks for reply

I find the angelwax range excellent - and they make it in Paisley so they know plenty about the Scottish weather. They have Perfect Polish which is dead easy to use, and a range of waxes which are colur dependent. I have the Black Angel wax on a black Audi and very impressed with it.

Thanks - I’ll have a look!

I have loads of wax’s but always end up using Sonax xtreme hybrid for my white car and even use it on 2 black cars in the house. Bit of prep to get rid of grime with a clay mitt with loads of lube and wash again with carchem shampoo , then a couple of layers of the sonax lasts the winter but also looks great for the rest of the year and isnt madly expensive and easy to obtain. Can’t be bothered with spending hours and hours doing this stuff now and the depth is great.

Fair enough. Well if it’s the BH wax you’ve used, you might need to edit the thread title :grinning:

What’s the difference between car polish and wax?

Will check as cannot remember i call all mine polish as thats what i do i polish car to a shine, i do alternate between polish and wax to keep paintwork in good condition my simple ways work for me but i also need to change title to Grease as its elbow grease that gets best finish :smiley::smiley::smiley::+1:

To be fair you wont go far wrong with the Autoglym range no matter what detailers will tell you.
It doesnt have to be complicated, a decent shampoo, super resin polish to cleanse the paint followed by a protectant such as their rapid ceramic spray.
Will keep a car looking fantastic.
Bilt Hamber are very good too, they get the science right in their products.
