I am looking to organise a weekend in York during the Autumn.
The run will leave from The StocKyard at 10:00 and take a scenic route to York, calling in for a P&T on route, arriving at our accommadation in the early afternoon.
Members will then have free time to see the sites of York, I could book the open topped bus if there is enough interest.
We could meet up for afternoon tea at one of the many tea rooms, possibly Betty’s - if our reputation does not go before us !!
Then after a wash and brush-up its the 8 oclock Ghost Walk around York City Centre, followed by a Curry.
There are a number of Ghost walks are any better than the rest?
And has anyone any recommendations (or otherwise) on the City Centre Curry Houses? Google brings up -
The Indian Lounge; Mumbai Lounge; The Viceroy Of India: Akbars:Mirchiz; Jinnah Restaurant; Bombay Spice.
They will need to be able to cope with about 20 club members and Norman, who will no doubt appear during the evening
I am hoping that I have found reasonably priced accommadation with safe parking, fairly near the City Centre, they can offer -
- Saturday 4th October
- Saturday 25th October
- Saturday 1st November
- Saturday 22nd November
As we have the National Rally at the end of September, and The Race of Rememberance at the begining of November, I am proposing the 25th of October.
Lesley and I will have a trip up to York and report back at the next meeting.
There will be a run to the coast the following day, Filey for a sand castle competition and to feed the seagulls? !! or Castle Howard if its raining
Feed back please
