Indicators and Radio not working

Hi Folks, I have a MK2.5 and in the process OF replacing Headlights and Tail lights to LHD. When I went to start on it I found out my battery was flat so jumped started it but didnt have time to fully charge the battery because I was  going away… anyway two week later back to replacing the tail lights and when I came to check the lights the indicators wasnt working… Mmmmmmmmm so as i was checking the problem i noticed the radio wasnt working either … the plots thickens then i noticed the the engine light was on, DAMN.

Has anybody come across this or even heard of it…  I’ve checked the wiring diagrams and the only thing I can see in common with both circuits is fuse’s F3 100A (by the way i cant remove it its stuck) F4 60A which are ok. Have also checked fuse’s F4 10A / F15 7.5A (indicators/hazards) and F8 10A / F10 10A (radio)

So folks is there anything I’ve forgot to check…  ???

Strange how 3 problems all at once… is its a coincidence so not related

Cheers Folks…   have a good EASTER

The 100 amp fuse is bolted in place.

Lift the passenger side carpet. Most people cannot do that simple thing and just say the carpet is dry.

Therefore lift the passenger side carpet, you will have to remove the sill plates that just pull off that are under the door on the top of the sill as they hold the carpet and look for dampness in the front of the passenger foot well. The is a cover where the passengers feet would be and the ECU or PCM in Mazda speak is there are there any rust marks on the ECU connectors.

There is a code reader port under the internal fuse box at the drivers right hand side knee.

Put a code reader on there and check for error codes and erease them after noting them if any are shown on the code reader.

If that does not switch the check engine light off, then disconnect the battery and hold the brake pedal down for say 20 seconds that should get the engine check light off.

Report back.

One of the SWM mwmbers had the same problem, it was the fuse.

So - will the engine start? If not then I suspect by jump starting you connected it the wrong way round. This will blow the 100 amp main fuse, which is located in the base of the main fuse box in the engine compartment.
It can also blow the 10 amp ROOM fuse, which kills various circuits. First step is to disconnect the negative lead on the battery, this is usually the terminal towards the back of the car, and also doesn’t have a protective cover on it (The positive terminal does). To access the main fuse, you need to open the cover, and undo the two bolts holding top half to bottom, then remove the side bolts (two of them) which go through the blades of the main fuse and hold it in place. Fit new fuse - usually in stock at MX5Parts - and replace all bolts. Now check the ROOM fuse, is that O/K? If not replace it, it’s a red (10 amp fuse, in the drivers fuse box). This should clear all your problems, if not, then come back again.

If all problems are solved, the remember in future which is positive and which is negative, and always connect like for like when jump starting.

cheers… but me dont understanding…

" To access the main fuse, you need to open the cover, and undo the two bolts holding top half to bottom, then remove the side bolts (two of them) which go through the blades of the main fuse and hold it in place "

I thought the 100amp fuse just pulls out like the others… 60amp, 40amp etc

that the hell is a ROOM fuse… lol never heard of it

No connected the jump leads correctly and started the car ok
