Inspection lamp

Hi all,

I`m looking for a new inspection light and the choice seems to be endless, so I was wondering what you guys use and would recommend,

I`m thinking mains powered may be better as all the battery powered lights/torches I have ever had always seem to be flat just when you need them and then take about 4 to 6 hours to charge for about a 2 hour working time, the ones that sit on a charging point all the time are ok for a while but the batteries don’t really like being constantly charged and soon loose capacity, there is also led, fluorescent or incandescent to take into account

Regards

I have a hand held LED one that takes 3 AA batteries and is very bright, not too big, lightweight and it also has a magnet and a hook on the back.

The AA batteries last a very long time and are cheap and easy to replace, so no dangling wires and no charging point required. My garage is remote from the house with no electricity supply so this lamp is ideal for me.

Unfortunately I do not know the make, but there are loads of them around (Maplins, Halfords, Machine Mart etc). Mine has 24 LEDs.

I can’t rate this one highly enough.

Ring Inspection Lamp

This one does much the same for fewer pennies.

I’ve borrowed one of these a couple of times, and yesterday finally decided to actually buy one for myself.
Ring Automotive Ultra Compact, maybe not quite as bright as Robbie’s but a charge lasts for a good four hours.

[If it is the one you won at the Xmas meal in the raffle it is from Wilkinsons. I have one. They are very bright. Glad you like it.

I have the 24 led worklight from Wilko, very good for a fiver.

I also have a traditional mains inspection lamp with an bright energy saving bulb - I prefer it to an incandescent bulb as it seems to create less shadows.

Another option, coming to a Lidl store close to you soon (Feb 23rd)
