Insurance cover

I am due to change my 2004 NB for a newer ('62 plate) mark3.5 in a few weeks and will clearly need to insure it with a n other. Have been with Classicline for 5 years or so and paid, on average £155 fully comp, with excesses on accidental damage and fire and theft and windscreen. This includes legal assistance and breakdown cover (i.e. roadside assistance and recovery/relay).
For a like for like policy, they have quoted £320!! (with AXA). Over double…they say this is principally due to the fact that it is a newer car. Anyone got any suggestions/recommendations on other companies I might try? Many thanks.

Last time I did the comparison thing on my NC, Churchill were one of the cheapest. My other car is insured with them so when I actually did it on the Churchill site they gave a me a small discount too. This years renewal actually went down and I’m paying £180 ish. Their breakdown add on is a bit pricy though but I have a personal breakdown policy with RescueMyCar which covers both cars and my motorcycles.
