Mystery warning on 4 month old HP laptop (Pavilion Core i5, Windows 11). Disabled as per instructions, but what does this mean (optane memory degrading). Is this laptop about to brick itself?
Plenty of posts around the topic, at 4 months old I’d be contacting HP.
4 months when purchased new. But HP says the machine is over a year old.
I’ve seen those posts. I understand none of them. Just a simple explanation of what Intel Optane is. I have already disabled it, but the laptop runs as normal. There was a big Win 11 update yesterday.
According to the blurb some memory management, indexing, caching and optimisation tech.
I would say far from essential, however for important data at least 2 independent copies of backed up data should be considered the minimum.
