Hello everyone.
I’m happy to introduce myself to this wonderful forum. My name is Nicola, I’m Italian and the happy owner of a Jet Black MX-5 ND 2.0 Sport. I use my MX-5 as my daily car and drive about 20,000 km a year. I also take long trips with the MX-5: the last one, in July, was in Bordeaux, France, for a total of about 3,500 km. I’m very satisfied. For me, MX-5 it’s a universal car that allows you to do (almost) everything.
I joined this wonderful forum to find and share information about the MX-5 world.
My MX-5 is pretty much stock, aside from the Ohlins adjustable suspension, which has improved the car’s handling tremendously, and a new gear knob custom-made for me by Commune DIY.
Welcome from Hertfordshire UK
I forgot: I live in Este, a small town 30 km south of Padua, in northeastern Italy.
Welcome Nicola.
It was thoughtful of you to share a photo of your car replicating typical British weather
I hope you will share your adventures with us and some images showing the region you live in.
As someone who is fond of Italy I will enjoy that very much.
Cheers,
Guy
“Che bella macchina” !
No…..I don’t speak Italian…..just used Google
Welcome to the Forum from Orange Mark 2.5 1.8 Icon owner in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire UK
Thank you Guy!
Yes, really!
That photo was taken the day after the car was delivered to me… It was January 3, 2024, and it was 2°C outside… and raining… The perfect time of the year to buy an open-top car!
A year and a half ago, 36,000 km ago…
Now some images
This is my home, beautiful Colli Euganei, south of Padua
I hope you enjoy!
Grazie mille!
Ah, that’s more like it Nicola.
Thank you.
Beautiful scenery as a backdrop for your car.
What a wonderful environment to enjoy an MX-5.
Please add as many images of Italy should you choose to as your adventures unfold.
Cheers ,
Guy
Welcome from Kent Nicola!
Padua is beautiful I visited there (1998 or 99) 2002 Arizona owner
Welcome Nicola, wishing you many smiles per mile in your lovely ND.
Last year managed to get down to Terlano to retrace the back roads to Merano I took 42 years ago on my way over to Davos. Was hoping to come over more your way this year to retrace what is left of the 1955 Mille Miglia route , but that will have to wait for a while.
Thank you!
Merano is a very, very beautiful city and the whole Val Venosta is also beautiful, with great roads (Stelvio Pass tells you anything?). I’ll be in Merano at the end of september, for the Gran Premio (horse racing).
In any case, keep in mind that the roads of the Mille Miglia, nowadays, are truly busy and much less romantic than they were in the 1950s …
Yes I did Stelvio Pass on the way to Davos. Next day I went via Vaduz to the Zurich MX-5 OC meeting
I have already been forewarned not to expect too much from the Mille Miglia route, somethings just have to be done because they are there and this is one of them
Wonderful images Nicola.
Thanks for sharing
