Is mk1 tonneau cover same as mk2.5 ?

Hi , have just joined the club and have a 2005 mk2.5 in Azoro blue, could any of you professional 5 ors help me  i am looking for a tonneau cover but wondered if the mk 1 is the same as mk2? Many thanks

Welcome to the Forum and the joys of owning an MX5.

To answer your question, unfortunately, a Mk1 cover will not fit on a Mk2. Although the tonneau covers are the same shape between a Mk1 and Mk2, the fastenings are different.

They aren’t the same shape either. The bit that studs down on the shelf is a different size as the studs on the MK2 are nearer the rear to clear the windblocker

Oh by the way, loved your comment about being an old goat with regard to engine size…I guess I’m in the same category !!!
