I could order the stuff from mx5parts if necessary, but would ideally like to just stop by Halfords after getting a new radiator fitted tomorrow, then get home, flush it out a few times, refill (ie with the above) then get back to driving it! Don’t want to get the wrong thing though after all this…
Seems to me that if you are buying "premixed coolant" you are buying a lot of stuff (water) that you can get quite cheaply at home! Check out the price of buying normal antifreeze and diluting it yourself - you might be pleasently surprised. If you insist on going the premixed route make sure you ask about antifreeze concentration - anything below abou 40% may not give you the essential corrosion protection. Friar
Well it just seems easier - if I can buy premixed, saves me buying distilled water, and worrying about getting the quantities right. I will definitely check on the ratio if buying premixed, but am more concerned about the chemical contents of the antifreeze - bear with me here, I’ve never bought antifreeze before - I’m really not sure if it’s all the same, or if I put the wrong type in it could destroy my engine…
