I have just completed an anti clockwise circuit of Arran, brilliant drive
Well done. We owned a cottage in Pirnmill for about 4 generations. I spent every school holiday there, so adding up, spent around 6/7 years of my life on Arran.
If you tell people palm trees grow in Scotland, they do not believe.
I learned to drive at aged 9…in the local farmers ex army crash box Landie…feeding sheep!
Did you see the spectre of the Great White Stag on the String Road? He is fabled through generations…and it has to be either raining or misty
I did!…but then I was only about 9 as well!
It’s an excellent drive in any car but it must be fantastic with the roof down in the 5.
I am going up there soon hiring a cottage in Lamlash. I would love to take my 5 but the logistics and all the stuff we take means I will probably take the focus. This usually means the sun shines and I kick myself but we spend most of the time walking so I don’t feel to bad.
Have you tried Holy Island just off Lamlash. You can’t take the car but it’s a magical place.
Mike
Unfortunately I was’nt in my mx, for the same reasons as yourself, but my BMW drove well & was showing 60 to the gallon at one stage.
For an excellent meal or afternoon tea, try the Lagg Hotel, weather the last few days has been very good.
