I’m the proud owner of a 1996 1.8 NA based on the Isle of Wight. I’m hoping there are other members here I can connect with and maybe even have the odd sunday drive (if there are any good roads left after all the rain has made half the Island slip into the sea!!)
My little baby is called froggy … long story short, pop up light reminiscent of a frog-eye sprite … green like Kermit… so froggy.
He’s has most of his underside cut away and replaced as is normal on these cars. He’s decked out in BMW San Marino Green, because it’s very close to the original neo green but way way shinier in the sun. Tesing the waters with his standard wheels painted gold… I like it so will stick with it!!
Next project is to whip tyhe engine out as I think the end of the crank is damaged which is why the oil seal keeps going. So anyone from the Island that likes working on these things is welcome to pop round and assist
