45,000 Mazdas affected.

Cars manufactured between nov 2000 and  march 2004 to be recalled for free airbag replacement, the mazda models involved not mentioned but a figure of  1000 british mazda cars involved  (sky news).

You really don’t want your air bag rupturing

It seems that it’s only 2002/2003 Mazda6 GG/GY that is affected in the UK. I don’t think there are many affected vehicles.

Its been widely reported that the RX-8 is included in the recall (yet again). The airbags can apparently catch fire.

The information that I’ve seen from Mazda references Mazda6 passenger air bag only. Different markets probably have different models affected.

This statement is from the Independant.  Whether it is reliable is anyones guess.:

“Mazda is recalling 45,463 cars, including the RX-8 and Mazda 6, but none of these are in the UK.”

VOSA website will publish the vehicles affected asap:

Unless its one of the fair number of grey import RX8s that are knocking about.

phew  for I moment I was worried that the airbag could go off and make a mess of the cupboard under the stairs Big Smile
