K&N TYPHOON INDUCTION KIT FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Hi does anybody have a set of fittings instructions for the K&N Typhoon Induction Kit, I bought it of Ebay for £75!!, just need to know how to fit it.

Otherwise any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Robert

I dont have instructions but just put one on and taken it off.

  1. Undo the clip for the air intake pipe at the inlet mainfold & air box remove air pipe.

  2. Unclip and pull out the air switch from the air box.(air flow meter)

  3. Undo the mtg braket attached to the cam cover.

  4. Remove the air filter, then you will see some screws remove screws there is also 1 x 6mm bolt holding the air box (I think). Then you can remove the air box.Put A large rag in the inlet mainfold I say large because you wont forget it,

  5. Clean the body work under the air box (you wont get the chance again)

6.Make sure the Typhoon pipe is clean internally and that you have not left in the large rag.

  1. Fit the typhoon pipe to the hose on the inlet maifold, and to the air flow meter.(make sure you refit the switch) Secure the hoses. one each end.well you know you have just taken them off . lol

8.Fit the mounting bracket back on to the cam cover (be carefull you dont over tighten this bolt) I clamped the wire to this bracket out of the way.

  1. Tighten the clamps at both the inlet manifold and air flow hose.

  2. Fit and secure the K&N filter.(MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CLEANED THE FILTER) oh don’t use too much cleaner, as I have been told this could ignite and burn out,the wire to,  god I cannot remember what the wire is called.

  3. Stand back and make your you have secured every thing (you may have to take a look at the wiring at the front of the engine and cable tie up).

  4. Then run around to the drivers side and start up once you have given it a road test, just lift the bonnet and have another look to check all is ok.

  5. Don’t expect any preformance enhancement from this. (Sorry I cannot thing what that bl–dy wire is called )

Happy fitting

I never cleaned mine  but it was brand new, will I be ok? lol.

And that wire you’re on about, do you mean the AFM?

I’ve done a 2 min video of how a K&N Typhoon looks and sounds, fitted to my 2005 mk2.5.

nice vid, great sound on the drive.

I am really keen to get this system, I want to know if I need any special tools for this job?

Cheers
