Now then folks.
Is anybody using one of these Karcher chassis cleaners. I saw one on You Tube and although fiddly it looks like it might be worth a punt. They are on ebay for about £60.00.
Cheers

Local garage & use the jet wash - £3 for about 10mins
They are very good at this time of year, particularly for areas where a Garage Jet wash…LOL…Cannot reach!!
I have one and happy to recommend. As mentioned above, they are a bit fiddly, with various components to assemble (and to store when not in use) but it’s a very useful tool for the winter in helping remove road salt.
Having said that, I have waxoyled underneath of my ND and I’m unclear if using the chassis cleaner is likely to remove it, which would be a bit counter productive, so currently I am using my boggo hose and attachment for rinsing underneath. But I still use my Karcher chassis cleaner on my daily driver.
Hope that helps.

The problem I see with it is you cannot see where it is cleaning or for that matter where it is missing dirty areas.
If there is a wax coating there it may well remove it.
Better than not getting the underneath clean but not as good as getting underneath but at £50 or so it has to be worth a punt.
Amazon.co.uk has them for £55 with free delivery
Yet another repeat post
Tesco Direct appears to be Cheaper still at £50. You could also perhaps look on the online Karcher Oulet store see if they have them on there. Likely to be cheaper still in the after xmas sales
In my experience with pressure washers (not just Karchers, although I do have one) you need to be very careful NOT to get the jet under the edges of the underseal - it WILL lift it!
Also it WILL (if used at full pressure, and more so with any detergent in the feed) remove any Waxoyl from the chassis bits (esp hollow sections).
In other words, DON’T use one at full blast - I find a simple water-fed softish brush is better provided you get under the sills. It’s really only the salty mud you need to get off. Nothing kills cars (particularly MX5s) faster…just plain water works best IMHO. The felt lining in the rear whaeel arches will usually drain and dry quite quckly after a hose-down, but be sure to get behind the return lip on the wheel arches - a notorious salt and mud trap, and the source of much ‘tin-worm’!
Just my 5 cents -worth…

A few years ago, i took a car up to the garage jet wash with a set of ramps in the boot.
I did, they’re about £46 + postage but out of stock, which with a limited warranty, isn’t really a great price.
Bought one and tried it…
Not bad to assemble, particularly if you were good at Lego when you were a kid. The connector that fits to the pressure washer is very tight, so I hope it’ll ease up with use.
In operation it can be a tight squeeze under some areas of the chassis but wiggling it around ensured it didn’t get completely stuck. The jet wash isn’t too strong to lift the underseal but hopefully enough to shift the salt and dirt.
Storage is easy, it has a ‘loop’ thing underneath at the front and hangs up on the garage wall.
Overall - Happy to have bought it, hopefully it’ll prove it’s worth this winter.
