MX5 RUN – 10TH APRIL 2016   APPROXIMATELY 41 MILES, ABOUT 1 HR 20 MINS

START:  “STOP 24” FOLKESTONE SERVICES, JUNCTION 11 M20

 (postcode CT21 4BL) www.stop24.co.uk

TIME:  10 AM FOR 10.30AM  Departure

On leaving the services go right round the roundabout taking the road signed Hythe & Hastings.

 At the next roundabout go right on to the A20, signed Hastings, Hythe & Sellindge.

Coming up to a sharp right hand bend keep to the left hand lane and go left on to the A 261 signed Hythe.

A short distance past the sign for Pedlinge where there’s a left hand bend take the narrow road straight across which leads to Lympne.

Carry on through Lympne, passing Port Lympne zoo and passing under its footbridge. Go through Court-at-Street then take a right turn signed for Aldington, Mersham & Ashford.

Keep on going through Aldington, passing the Walnut Tree Inn on the left. Just after opposite Aldington Post Office & Stores on the right go left into Frith Road, signed for Bilsington and Ham Street.

At T-junction go left signed Bilsington and New Romney and then immediately right into Stone Cross Road.

At T-junction go left and almost immediately right into Birchett Lane.

A short way down turn right to Shadoxhurst, entering Orlestone Forest.

Drive through Orlestone Forest, then through Shadoxhurst. At T-junction go left.

Turn right signed to High Halden. Go straight over the cross roads still signed High Halden and keep following this road towards High Halden.

Just before entering High Halden take a left turn on a bend into Harbourne Lane, signed St Michaels, though the sign is rather difficult to see.

At T-junction go left to Woodchurch.

At T-junction turn left and drive straight on through Woodchurch following sign for Appledore.

Continue through Appledore and then turn right on to the B2080 signed Tenterden 6 miles.

Carry on for some way then take a sharp left turn for Wittersham (between a former inn and a garden centre).

At T-junction turn left on the B2082, signed Rye.

Go through Iden. At the junction with the A268 go left for Rye, immediately entering Playden.

Carry on on the A268 going into Rye.

At mini-roundabout  go right on to the A 259, signed Hastings, Battle & Town Centre.

At mini-roundabout turn left signed Hastings A259 & Rye Harbour.

Take the next left signed Rye Harbour.

Enter Rye Harbour Village and follow road round to right where there is a large, free car park on the right.

At Rye Harbour there are toilets, two pubs, a café, a licenced restaurant open to the general public on the caravan site, a gallery with a small café and a general store.

For those who are interested we will be having a walk towards Winchelsea, meeting in the car park at 2.30 pm.

what a fab day, great weather super drive with great friends with 40 cars in the end it was a smashing day
