Key fob not working

Gone to open car key fob not working. No central locking boot or anything. Fortunately I have a spare. I thought I would get warning if battery was low. Any help please. Mk3 2007

I’m not aware of any low battery warning for the NC key fob.

First thing to try would be to replace the battery (it’s a standard CR1632).

Thanks for that. Just a new battery or does it need to be reprogrammed

No reprogramming needed. It’s a 2 minute job to do (details in Owner’s Manual or on YouTube).

When changing the battery be careful not to touch both sides at the same time as it can cause a short circuit and drain the battery.
