Key locking and unlocking mk3

    I bought new car battery 7 weeks ago when I purchased my car. When I lock or unlock it takes at least 3 presses to respond. Do I need new key battery or does it need to be re programmed. Thanks for your help

If it does everything it’s supposed to do, lock/unlock but slowly I’d take a look at the battery in the fob.
Sometimes it’s the battery about to expire or the contacts for the battery connection in the fob needs adjusting for better contact. The take a cr1620 coin type battery, get a reliable make, I use Panasonic brand.

Also, I found that the buttons on my fob were bunged up with lint and crud.
I took it apart and gave it a deep clean and it worked much better
