- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __replacement key
Hi folks I’ve recently acquired a nice 2012 SE - only with a single key - any advice on getting a second key .

I would go to your local Mazda dealer and get a price, then see if MX5 Parts can get one cheaper.
I had new keys done when I bought mine with just one key.
I used Forscan 2.3.4 beta as suggested on other threads
I used the 2 month free advanced licence for Forescan.
It now generates its own incode rather than having to use another site.
I now have three working keys coded to the car. ( plus a spare cut blade that switches on the ignition )
The complete process took less than 10 minutes from getting in to the car.
The car now has 4 keys recognised by the car but I only have three
For info - I used a laptop ( connected to the house wifi ) and a usb corded OBD cable
Total cost for the two extra keys was around £130
£50 each for the full keys from ebay
£20 for the OBD cable
£10 for the local locksmith to cut the three new key blades
Cheers
Hi folks - I recently posted re replacement key - local Masda dealer excess of £280 - Local Timson ( Asda) similarly £270 but the chap did a basic non electric key for £80.00 - works perfectly
