Knockhill Track Day 16th November 2025

Hey All

I’ve just booked myself onto the Knockhill track day on 16th November at 1pm.
It’s just a short 3hr open session but probably the last one for the year.
I’m going in my bone stock NC to see how it performs before mods come next year.
Feel free to book on and join me if you want to!

Sounds awesome! I am yet to do a track day in my MX-5 but I have been wanting to make it a bit more track ready (brakes, brake lines, brake fluid, tyres, alignment) before I take her to one. Would be nice to hear how you got on though.

Have you done track days there before in another car perhaps?

I have been before, did a few in my Fabia VRS and was lined up to do one in my i30N but sold it.

I recently did all the fluids and got mine with fresh tyres so should be good to go :crossed_fingers:

Sounds like you are ready to go then! Also helps you know the track as well. I hope it is the clockwise, I can’t stand the anti-clockwise track days… just don’t like the track layout in that direction.

star!!
I hadnt seen this.

@Reignable
thank you! see you there

It is clockwise. I’ve not done anticlockwise but would be interested to try it, what don’t you like about it?

Going backwards on Duffus dip, the corner feels very different and less challenging. I also find the top speed would be lower going into Clark (anti clockwise) compared to going into the hairpin (clockwise). The chicane is another one where in my MR2 Roadster I could go flatout until the final exit before Clark, whereas anti clockwise this whole section is completely different.

I mean I did have fun when I did it, but given the choice I would do the normal direction anytime. The flow just feels a lot better.

Anyway, you have fun and trouble free day out!

it will be my first knockhill visit. tried looking last year but never found an event not fully booked.

Nov may be cold and wet

i’ll be bringing the wife. shes not been round a track before so will be a ‘‘date night’ lol.

Taking my ‘reasonably track capable’ ND.

@Reignable whwere you driving from? im coming in from north of Aberdeen

I’m in Edinburgh. Could hit some good roads on the way down from Aberdeen, I was up there a few weeks ago and wished I had the MX-5.

I’d enjoy that but I fear my ambition would outweigh my talent and I really dont want to wreck my baby.

I’m thinking about going as well! My NC is stock apart from a Ram Air intake I installed last weekend, and it was sold to me with some… interesting tyres but I would like to come along and get a baseline laptime so I can see any progress I can make with mods! Think I met you a few weeks ago, you have a red hardtop NC? Hopefully I’ll make it along and see you there!

Once I have sorted out better tyres for my ND I will be going on knockhill then silverstone once Japfest comes around again, would be great to see some folk up there from the club though so might pop along and spectate if that is a possibility!

If I wasn’t working I’d be so keen for this.

They do offer instruction sessions in your own car now also

Ben?

Come use up the bad tyres. Then you have a reason to get good ones.
