Knocking after changing brakes

  1. My model of MX-5 is: nc 2008
  2. I’m based near: glasgow
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __

So i changed the front breaks pads and i have a tickting /knocking sound.

At first i thought it could be a loose pad or caliper. So took the wheel back off and its deeper inside so thinking its a coincidence that this appeared after changing the breaks.

If i put my hand on the engin plastic i can feel it tapping.

No engine light , car still drives but the noise is horrendous.

Any one got any ideas ?

Sounds like somethings caught up maybe catching the auxiliary belt/pulleys, have you dropped a spanner somewhere in their.

I had a similar experience on Fiesta recently; only fixed by replacing front discs although fine for MoT purposes but did have a wear ridge on outside edge

So the breaks was a red herrin. Checked the oil and it was very low. I think the rod bearings have went.
