Knocking sound at full lock

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NC 3.75
  2. I’m based near: Bath
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: I have a strange knocking sound that only happens when turning at full lock. E.g when reversing onto the drive.

Context: Had new Meister R Zeta CRD coilovers fitted and a fast road alignment completed and it’s made this noise ever since.

Any ideas as to the potential cause?

Check the following:

Ackermann effect…may be more pronounced with new set up.

Adjustment nut not fully tight after new geometry set up.

Drop links…the knocking on full lock on my NC vastly improved after changing front drop links.

Loose ball joint.

From what I’ve read on various forums most people just live with it if they cannot find anything wrong with suspension, but new tyres with more flexible tyre walls can also help if Ackermann involved.
