Know anywhere good to go near Ross on Wye?

We’re staying in Ross on Wye in Herefordshire next week. O/h will be off doing something so I’ll have some time to play with the car! Wondered if anyone had any reccomendations for somewhere nice to drive to? Got the pooch with us too, so was thinking of touristy parky places that have nice roads in between them to take him to.

Ta!

Hi faith just pm you contact

Herefordshire: Golden Valley, Black & White villages, Brecon or Black mountains

Worcestershire: Malverns, Severn Valley Railway,

Gloucestershire: Forest of Dean, Chepstow/Monmouth/Tintern, Gloucester Docks, Take the o/h shopping in Cheltenham

Go north from RoW along A49 ( as if for Hereford) - not too far up is a turn for Abergavenny - go left and follow all the way.
Get to A40 at Aber >> Crickhowell - hang left for Llangattock and head for B4560
When there drive either left or right and then come back on yourself - do as many times as you like
Then, back to Aber.
Find Llanfoist and the road that goes over to Blaenavon and back again

would give you more but gotta get to work

enjoy Big Smile

Head to monmouth then continue towards Cardiff on A449, some spectacular vues.

OR Better still, from monmouth the chepstow on the A466 along the Wye Valley!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!

Most of the roads through the forest of dean are amazing too!

hehe! I’m back now. But I did do a lot of the roads you guys recommended, and they were fab! Did a lot of getting lost and “ooh that looks like a nice one, let’s turn down there” too. Really great area for playing with an mx5. Just need to go back some time and have a play with the bike now!

Faith

Try the Forest of Dean, not far from where you are.
