KwikFit prices...

 http://www.kwik-fit.com/mot-and-service-pricing.asp

Anyone here used these guys for anything.  Seems a good deal.  But too good?  My Mk 1 due for its MOT

Keep your cats and dogs away, because there’s a can of worms open!

I doubt that anybody here is going to recommend taking your car to kwik-fit, for a whole host of reasons, but you would be far better trying to find a good local mechanic.

If they are doing the service I think it would be incumbent for them to make sure it was all ok and pass the MOT.  Plus the stick that they had to take a few years ago meant that their whole policy changed. In 2006 I went in to a Kwik-fit garage to ask if they would check my brakes after I had changed the discs and pads and bled the brakes. They were very pleasant and checked them and gave me the all clear. All F.O.C.

[Y] only had tyres from them but got a good price and service[H]

Thanks peeps, just think 99 quid for a interim service + MOT cant be bad…

my grandson took his clio in for the £99 service and MOT a month ago, had minor problems prior, but since service, he is very pleased with results,

i think we need to remember that providing they do a reasonable job, there are a lot of people, especially students etc,on a fine budget, that this offer helps

 Here you go…  http://www.kwik-fit.com/whats-included-in-my-service.asp

Considering MOTs are about 40 quid and if I was to buy the parts to do the service myself wont be massively cheap, I will take the gamble I reckon…

their prices might be cheap but they pay the staff a pitance. As the old saying goes you pay peanuts you get monkey’s

I wouldnt want monkeys working on my 5 or any of my car. their prices are ok but the numpties doing the job could quite easily get it wrong or not care about the car they are working on.

My advice steer clear and go to a trusted or recommended mechanic.

Best of all do it your self, it aint rocket science!

At least they will work on a 5 service or just tyres , National Tyres Local to me would not even check my headlamp level as it was an import , then said they couldn’t do an oil change again because it was an import , what crap service they are located New Ferry, Wirral, Merseyside used them for good deal on tyres on other vehicle i own alas no more

My mate used to swear by his local national tyres for his 5, til the business went belly up.

Interesting about kwik Fit as National Tyre sdidn’t want to know about doing any work on my Mk1 1.8 Eunos i had my company car in for two tyres at Kwik Fit yesterday and asked about oil changes etc. and was told by the manager they would do no oil changes or service work on my car beacuase its an import, Mot it fine £46 but anything else ,get lost.

These two Uk tyre companys National and kwik fit branches on Wirral Merseyside.
