Has anybody fitted an demon tweaks or roll centre lap timer?

The instructions on fitting are non existent and I was curious as to the best place to put the sensor so that it is triggered by the tracks standard beacon.

As far forward as possible.

 

If it is for track days, where you can’t time anyway, the beacon should be turned off.

Surely it’s irrelevant how far forward it is in the car when timing for your own purposes as the lap is always the same length for the front or the back of the car. I was really looking for advice on position in the car so that it is picked up by the beacon, ie near side, offside or inside the cab etc.

My mistake, I was thinking of a transponder.

Live timing on track days is forbidden, it invalidated both the TDO’s and the Circuits insurance. The timing beacon should be turned off. If you are discovered timing, then you go home.

However, they are normally attached to the top of a roll cage or windscreen surround.
