Saturday. 18th September

There will be two runs today, one leaving at 9.00 for early arrivals, then at short intervals until 9.30,  for 3 hours with a brunch coffee stop half way round, returning to the start point, on the Chatsworth Estate for 12.30. due to massive interest, the afternoon run will be done alongside the morning run, we aim to pre book coffee and cakes only, for a small fee payable when departing, so they are waiting for us, to save time.

The second run will then leave at 12.30 on a different route, for 3 hours, again stopping for a coffee half way round. returning to the start point, again on the Chatsworth estate for 3.30pm. due to massive interest, the morning run will be done alongside the afternoon run. again coffee/teas and sandwiches for those that missed lunch, are to be pre booked and paid for on departure if desired.
The 3 hour runs will leave the Carlton Lees car park, by the Garden Centre (DE4 2NX)
at the south end of the estate at 9.00 and 12:30.

Taking in local villages and country roads such as Castleton, Winnats Pass,Tissington, Dovedale, Illam, Eyam, Hartington, Bakewell, Manifold Valley, a 100 Yard long tunnel, and maybe a Ford, thats an under car wash for those that aren't sure. etc etc. We intend to make the routes available on the forum, for people who wish to do the runs themselves to download.
This should give those that are attending the evening Pie and Pea Dance, time to get their dancing trousers on and be waiting for the free bus to pick them up.
The plan is to have a pick up time of 5pm and 5.30 pm from both the camp site at Barlow and the Park hotel.
Running a shuttle service with 24/51 seater buses, arriving just in time for the bar to open at 6pm.
After an aperitif or two, the pie and peas will be served 7-7.30pm. Which is now table service,
We have almost got the whole of the hotel to ourselves, with a wedding size Marquee in the grounds on hardstanding, plus an overflow room in the hotel, plus the downstairs bar area, so that's 4 bars to prevent queuing !!
There will also be a seperate wine bar outside the marquee.
The band Broken Toys will set up about 8pm to start playing from 9pm, now if any of you were lucky enough to be at Mallory (not Belvoir as stated earlier), it is the same band. excellent they were too.
They will perform till approx 11.30pm, encores allowing of course, then the buses will take people back to their accomodation from 11.30 then again at 12 midnight.
Sunday 19th September
Sees an early start, official opening time is from 9am, to try and keep the main access road clear for members of the public visiting the house.
The events scheduled for the day include from 10am until 4pm a Caricature artist will be doing drawings of people who have pre booked for £5, or £10 if you turn up on the day, bearing in mind there is a limit of 60 pictures only. If you have booked the artist please report to the club tent soonest to be allocated a time slot for your sitting, please bear in mind he has 60 to do and will be there from 10am to start drawing.
Also from 10am till 11am then from 12 till 1pm and again from 2pm till 3pm the Ireland Chesterfield Colliery Brass Band will be performing for your entertainment.
There will also be a Rodeo SHEEP ride from 11am till 3pm, for a small fee there will be a prize of a digital camera for the person who stays on the longest, so yeehaa get your spurs out pardners.
We are trying to arrange a photographer, who will take your picture during the event, to be put on sale during the day if you wish a momento of your visit. also may be some aerial photo's taken too
There will also be a raffle running throughout the day, with prizes ranging from a weekend half board hotel stay, or two, hundreds of pounds worth of parts and accessories vouchers, track sessions and goody bags etc. as well as the ususal show car competitions.
Along with some race prepared track MK.3's provided by Paul Roddison and others from Mazda on track, who will also be giving a talk and showing people round their cars.
The Owners Club's very own Roadster Robbie will also be giving a demonstration and there to answer any technical querries you may have about your MX5.
As if that wasn't enough, GK group will be showing us a few cars as well as the latest MK3.5,

MX5 Parts and Autolink  along with MX5 HEAVEN will be there to supply you with new and used parts that we all just must have, and of course with special rally discounts too.
A new trader has joined us this year selling genuine Mazda spoilers, side skirts and fog lamps at up to 50% off new prices for MK2 and 2.5 models.
Of course we all need to keep our babies spotless and shiney, so that's where MEGUIARS come in handy.
Footman James will be able to provide all your insurance needs, and there will be a Number plate/vinyl graphics vendor AUTO ART,  printed while you wait also.
Not forgetting the ever present health and safety aspect, we have invited the I.A.M. Institute of Advanced Motorists to attend,
We have one or two more traders in the pipeline, plus one or two surprises that may or may not happen yet, but plans are under way to make the day as enjoyable as we can for all our members.
Look forward to seeing you all there Due to the fantastic response to these runs, we are having to do both runs am and pm, to divide the numbers. there is no way our little village coffee and tea rooms can handle 100plus customers at a time, not to mention parking for 50+ cars.

so half the people booked on the morning run will do run 1, the other half run 2, this will then be reversed in the afternoon so people requesting both am and pm runs get to do both, and not the same run twice.

please be aware also that due to numbers and time restrictions, it will only be a 30min toilet, coffee/cake stop, of course if you are not attending the sat evening function you can spend the afternoon at your leisure,

Hi All,

please find enclosed links to the Saturday runs,

Hi Bee Bee
yes you do need to register your interest for the pm run, it is just so we have an idea how many to expect and arrange leaders etc also so that we dont leave you behind.
As for the Sat night, if you have only just bought your ticket, and are over number 300 then all that means is you will be in the overspill room in the main hotel, which is only yards from the marquee, you will be served at table and have exactly what everyone else is having, and of course after the meal you are more than welcome and there will be enough space for you to join everyone else in the marquee for the band and dancing,
It is just space to eat comfortably in the Marquee that limits the numbers to 300.
hope this clears things up for you, and look forward to seeing you on the night.
best regards
Pete

as it is now so close to the event, any one sending in an application form for tickets along with their money, Jill will hold on to the tickets and give you them on the night,

to prevent them being held up in the post.

but unfortunately the runs are now full, both AM and PM,

though a member has started his own run independantly leaving at 10am

Thanks for compiling that post Pete,

Yesterday we were advised that the marquee in which the band will play is full to capacity, however another room has been made available.

See my post   ‘Pie and Pea Supper - The Marquee is now full, however’

Google Map, RAC routefinder and Streetmap can’t find DE2 2NX - do you mean DE4 2NX?  Google Map found a gardencentre at Charlton Lees Beeley there - is that the right place?{#emotions_dlg.confused}

Sorry about that, DE4 2NX is in deed the right postal code.

 Hi BFG! Firstly a BIG thanks for organising all this! {#emotions_dlg.anclapping}

Secondly, can I book myself (and my MX-5{#emotions_dlg.wink}!) into the afternoon run on the Saturday please?

Really looking forward to this one, just hope the weather holds up!!

Thanks again!

Paul.

 Hi Paul,

thanks for that, yep consider yourself included on the sat pm run,

if you could pm me your surname, would help in case a number of pauls turn up and we leave without you?

route will be posted shortly, but we don’t intend to lose anyone, and will have radio contact throughout the run at least front and rear.

look forward to seeing you on the day

regards

Pete

 thanks for PM Paul

 BREAKING NEWS !!!

THE RODEO BULL HAS ESCAPED

BUT FORTUNATELY, WE HAVE SECURED A RODEO SHEEP INSTEAD,

AM SURE SHE WILL BE JUST AS PRETTY, AND AS HARD TO RIDE.

SEE YOU THERE

PETE

To give the staff at Chatsworth time to order and prepare the picnic lunches they have requested a cut off date for pre orders of this coming Friday the 10th of September,

so as the weather is going to be glorious, you better get your order in promptly or you will be sat in the sunshine in the picnic area by the river bank, but with no picnic??

but do not panic, there are plenty of food outlets outside the house, cafe,s restaurants and coffee/ice cream sellers, just a short walk from the main field, and you dont have to pay to get to them, they are outside the main house in a courtyard.

there will also be mobile units selling food and drink on the main field area all day too.

PS Please be aware there are strictly NO bbqs or open fires allowed on the Chatsworth estate, thank you for your co-operation.

not long to wait now.

Pete

Hi

Does anyone know if I can bring my 2 small dogs with me to Chatsworth?

Thanks

Lynne

 Hi Pete,

I know this may seem like dumb question, but is it too late to book myself into the pie and pea supper? I’m not 100% sure if I’ll be coming along for the weekend, just depends on the weather at the mo. I’ve booked myself into the Saturday afternoon run and the Barlow Lakes campsite so fingers crossed the weather will stay dry!!{#emotions_dlg.umberella}{#emotions_dlg.cloud}

Thanks again Pete,

Paul.

I have found the answer on the Chatsworth House website and dogs are welcome in the park provided they are kept on a lead.Smile

 Hi Paul

no it is not too late to book for the pie and peas, just send a completed form to Jill along with your payment of course, you can find a form to download almost anywhere on this link.

please bear in mind you will be in the overspill room in the main building, which is only yards from the marquee, and you will be able to join in and watch the band after the meal in the marquee, it is just table space for eating that is limiting the numbers inside the tent.

hope to see you there

Pete

Thanks for the update Pete

Jill

Thanks for preparing the update, I think you have covered at the earlier questions raised on the forum

The title says it all really, in this thread you should find all the information you need,

some of it might be a little too late now, but it has been on here for months now

we try to keep it at the top of the list but it keeps slipping down

Pete

Thanks for that Pete

Jill

Hi All, thread locked, first post should answer most questions if not please check the other threads…

Is it too late to book tickets for the Pie supper and run on Saturday pm? We nearly had to cancel going but now we are able to be there.

Thanks
