Latest news on the National event - now with ticket prices and application form

Just for the benefit of those that wonder what we are on about, Bosworth and more particularly the battle of Bosworth field is the last time the crown on England changed in battle when Richard III was defeated.  When I last went, some years ago it was fascinating to see placards showing silhouettes of the current scenery with the battle lines drawn on them. You don’t get that “real” feeling from castles. The close proximity of the opposing armies will surprise you.

Basically just a pleasant couple of hours with English history.

Looks like I will be bring my Kitesurf gear…  [H]

It all sounds good to me!

Have there been any new developments on all the fantastic variety of track events, further to Jim’s article in the magazine? If there’s support from other members, may I suggest we try to enable as many people as possible to experience the joy of driving their cars on such a great track? There always seem to be a lot of disappointed owners who aren’t quick enough off the mark to book the limited number of track places. Perhaps more places could be created by shortening the sessions, so instead of 1-2 there are 3-4 a day? I understand this may not be practical at the National Rally because of the busy track schedule for different events, but is it possible (or already happening) elsewhere?

Just a couple of procedural things need sorting and then I hope to have a program of track activity activity up on the website [:)]

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum bit or not but up here in darkest deepest North East Scotland we have been given the chance to attend a classic car event called Motorvation on the 19th July. This is a pretty large event with all the usual classic cars and super-car clubs going along. the event will also be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the fild The Italian Job and the 50th anniversary of the mini. I have the option of taking 6 cars, one of which just happens to be a 1989 registered one. I wondered if we are able to get hold of any banners or the like to help advertise the 20th anniversary? I only have the usual area banner. Any ideas or help would be great.

cheers

 Hi Lorraine,

I would send your query direct to Mino at his Club email address as he is heading up the 15 20 team and will know whats happening  and put you in touch with the relevant team member to help you.

Am I correct in thinking that this event replaces the proposed national rally date of 6th September? Many apologies if someone has asked this previously but cannot be bothered to read 9 pages of posts!!!

Now that could be interesting…will you bring your ninja disguise to make it look like you are walking on the water?? [;)][:D][H]

LOL!!! - Will have to see…    click here 4 a preview [;)]  [:D]

 yes you are correct

Thanks Harco

Damn…got to rearrange my sailing weekend!!!

 Hello there,

The event does look good. However STHT April gives the inpression that its now a one day event - is that so ? Also, I am having trouble in finding a campsite with some decent facilities so do you have any recommendations, The Bosworth Water Trust has a two night minimum booking. It might be worth setting up an information page for campers. Regards John Kent

I was getting the impression that its only a Saturday event.

Surprising really given the importance of the event, and begs the question, is it worth camping?

That said, I will be up for camping assuming there is a “communal” camp site [:D]

I’ll look into the 2 night minimum - we camp there a lot, and assuming you don’t want electricity I can’t see why…

I’ll let you know…

I’m a little confused (it’s probably an age thing)

despite looking over the threads i still can’t decide if

A/ the event price of £30. is still correct.&

B/ is that price for the 2 days or just the club saturday.

.even tho the sunday is a normal non 5 event.it will still be a good day as it always is at mallory.

much appreciated if someone can clear that up for me please.

I had hoped that other perople would have posted more details here by now. However…

The National event will take place on Saturday the 12th September and be a one day event. As far I am aware there is not entrace price set, although there will be one.

The gala dinner and hotel side is well in hand and details I believe are posted elsewhere.

There will be track action all day and exciting things going on, and there will be a post up about that side of things, hopefully later today.

The Sunday, Mallory shows the meeting being this:-

Championship Car Races
A round of the BARC National club car championships
Adults £10 Online (£12 on the Gate ) per day
Children, Parking & Paddock Free. A charge for camping may be made.

Just hoping that members get off thier rear ends.[sn]

Get the car out whatever the weather.[um][st]

turn up and find something to enjoy.[D]

dont moan about it afterwards.[::(]

I …along with many others hope that the event is a succesfull as it deserves to be.

£ 30 is ok as long as the show merits it. and you wont know that till its over.

But lets not let the pt cruisers , Nissan enemaes and all the other crappy cars have better shows than us.

Fingers crossed

Alan

hear hear.
