Lazy Eye Kits

Hi,

Considering doin the lazy eye thing.

Anybody got experience of this? I see kits on eBay, will these just be some wires and a switch that I could get from Maplin??

Also, is it possible just to make one lazy eye?

From what I’ve read about them, Most of the lazy eye kits on Ebay are as you said, just some wire and a switch.

You cut the positive power wire for the pop up motors at the fuse box and crimp on the 2 lengths of wire in the kit. You then feed the wires into the cabin and attach then to the switch.

When you want the lazy eye look you just pop the lights up and try to “Catch them” at the point you want by flicking your new switch and simulating a blown fuse.

If you get a reasonable quality “On-Off-Momentary on” rocker switch and some wire from Maplins you could go one better than the Ebay kits. If you use one of these switches then you’d have a “Normal operation” mode for when you just want the lights to do what Mazda intended, and a powered off mode where you still have a convenient press button action to pulse the lights up or down till you get them exactly where you want them (Have you ever tried to toggle a rocker switch on and off really quickly?). You’d just need to bridge both outputs on the switch.

It’s not the most sophisticated idea in the world, But it should work fine.

Cheers for info.

May well give it a go…
