leather conditioner can you recommend one?

I have red leather seats in my car and have been using autoglym conditioner on them. The problem is this liquid, like several others, is white and leaves a residue, in the perforated seat holes, which is very difficult to remove.

I wondered if anyone could suggest an alternative clear conditioner.

I use this Meguiars Leather cleaner / condtioner  http://www.meguiars.co.uk/product/370  its great stuff and works without leaving residue in the perforated sections too, halfrauds stock it but any good car accessory store should have it also.

Thanks nickgun i will try some of that.

I used Meguairs leather wipes on my 2.5 seats with perforations.  They came up a real treat. No residue of any sort.  Started off really shiney but buffed up great…

I will get some of those too, thanks.we have a leather sofa so i can use them on that as wellBig Smile

I bought some of the leather wipes and the meguires conditioner, both are excellent and have left the seats and my sofa looking great, thanks again  and nick thanks once more for the tonneau info.

Try Gliptone in Todmorden, West Yorks,They make all types of stuff including a reconditioner, dye to respray your seats, the lot. Their cream conditioner works very weel. It’s white but it sinks in rather than dries on. No douby you can track them with a Google or look in any car mag, they are usually there among the classifieds.

I can highly recommend the Gliptone products too. There’s a cleaner and conditioner, and they do a great job of cleaning up the older seats - even removed the silicone polish my cars previous owner had liberally used!
I also have the Mequiars wipes which are nice and conveinient for a quick wipe over / maintenance.

Not a fan of the Autoglym for the same reason - I also find it leaves the seats sticky.

Gliptone is very good

Hi. I’ve just used Gliptone cleaner and conditioner on my Mk1 leather seats. You can get both for about £12 if shop around.

I highly recomend it, it really does soak in and give the leather a lovely look and smell.

Tip: get a baby’s hair brush as they are soft bristled and they work the cleaner into all tubing and creases if there are any.

I use Renapur on mine  http://www.renapur.com/  which I find excellent. Use sparingly and preferably on warm seats i.e. a sunny day or put the seat heaters on for a few mins and no probs with residue in the holes as it resembles Vaseline [but with a better smell].
