I suspect it may be too tall to get under an MX5 unless the car is driven onto planks first?
Dr. Eunos
I have used one of these on my 5 had no problems so far.

Ive had one for about 3 years & it
s still going strong. Which is more than i can say for the Draper one i had before that.
Fine for the occasional DIYer id say or swapping wheels over but if you
re a regular fix-er-uper you may want to go for a more sturdy option.
If your cars lowered you may need to drive onto blocks of wood first or it won
t fit under. Either that or use the standard jack to start with then slide the trolley jack under.
I’ve had one for a couple of years too and, I too, wouldn’t use it for anything more than changing a wheel. I definitely wouldn’t stick my head under the engine while the car’s on it
Even with the best jack in the world you should be using axle stands before venturing under the car. Am pretty sure this jack will not fit under the front cross-member or under the bottom diff mount bolts, which is where you should jack either end of the car.
