Been in the garage this morning, charger connected to the battery on the daily driver, Lidl charger.
I then looked at the increasing stack of tools I’ve recently bought from Lidl. I’ve been looking at too many ‘what’s in the middle of Lidl’ YouTube videos.![]()
Still, bought with a purpose, my old cordless drill/driver is useless as I can’t get a battery for it, I need another drill (cordless) instead using my corded drill and the multi tool will be handy, always wanted on. Bought when they were on offer, or for the batteries buy one get one free.
Doing some work in the garage when it warms up, new bench shelving etc so it’ll all come in handy then.
Always nice to have new tools! I’d be interested in seeing how these hold up over time. Had Lidl had a multitool for sale when I needed one I would have grabbed it too.
I think most stuff I bought from there has a 3 year warranty, even the tiny rechargeable led torch.
I’m not a prolific user of power tools so buying budget stuff will do. I worked out buying all the power tools and associated batteries and charger didn’t come to much over £100 at the time, some were on offer around November/December.![]()
I’ve got a garage full of Parkside 20v stuff - Power Saw, Circular Saw, Jigsaw, Hammer Drill, Impact Wrench and Angle Grinder - all have been brilliant over the past 6 or so years. Excellent value.
Great fan of the Parkside tools very impressed with the impact driver used it for my cars wheels
I like you can use the same batterie in almost of the larger tools…must admit I got around 25 tools and 10 batts plus 2 larger batts for the more demanding tools just bought the twin battery charger with a new glue gun …cheep but cheerful ![]()
I have to say their impact wrench is a weak thing. But you can’t expect miracles for £75, but it’s good for taking the wheel nuts on and off. On the other hand, if you already have a battery that comes with the former, their impact driver is a steal at under £25.
The three year warranty can be a problem as after the first twelve months it has to be returned to the manufacturer, not back to the store. Some say the postage can be expensive to the EU.
For home use - I find the Parkside tools pretty good value and have never yet needed the 3 year warranty.
Agree with @Beryl - The impact tool is not the strongest.
Luckily I have an Ingersoll Rand W7152 Impact Tool that has never failed me yet.
£75.00
for the impact driver Paid £20.00 for it as you say a steal as I have two heavy duty batts good enough to wipping the nuts on and off then tweeking the nut with t.rench …if they bust then there good for parts or the bin as I said cheep
There is a bit of difference between a wrench and a driver. The former will have a 1/2 “ square drive on it. The latter just accepts small tools.
Yep - one of those in the tool box too.
Best tool in the world for those stubborn disc retaining screws.
I’m still using the high powered chunky hot glue gun I bought when my local Lidl opened in 1997 or so. It gets a fair amount of use (and abuse) and I’ve given it an internal clearout of accumulated glue a couple of times, but still going strong.
Some of the cheaper ones are questionable from my experience. I bought a Snap-On one (OK at great expense but I probably got a free mug or something) but it is an unbelievably good piece of kit.
Regarding the battery for the drill. Mine packed in. I opened it up, identified the cells and ordered replacements from Ali express. I had to mess about wiring them in to the pcb, but job done, battery back in action. Cost me less than a fiver.
Just for clarity…
The top item is an impact wrench ( £70 with battery) The lower item is a impact driver ( £20-25 without battery)
yep I have them both one for £20.00 and the other cost £25.00 but not bought from Lidl got them together from a stall New
with two boxes of rubberised sockets and bits …
would like to get my hands on some of those storage boxes ![]()
They were the last things I bought, this year 2nd January £8.99 each. You maybe lucky and they have some left. They’ve had them in twice over the last 2-3 months I noticed so hopefully again soon, I may buy more if so.
Hi and thank you for the info we have 3 stores near to us so I will give them a buzz hopefully one might have them there going on eBay for 19.99 then postage so I would, could get 2 for that price and change thanks once again
kind regards Tony.c
I haven’t had much luck with Lidl tools none of them worked. Between us myself and my brother in law bought 3 laser measures and non of them worked. I used mine on my hall and it measured it at 3’ from right to left and 8’ from left to right! After having a few things that didn’t work I gave up buying them.
